The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released the first iteration of the regional rankings Tuesday, and the University at Albany men's and women's outdoor track teams held spots in their respective polls. The men were ranked fourth behind Cornell, Buffalo, and Syracuse, and the women were ranked seventh, behind Harvard, Cornell, Connecticut, Boston University, Brown, and Buffalo. The poll identifies the top 15 teams in each of the nine Division I regions across the country. The Northeast region, in which UAlbany falls, encompasses over 40 Division I programs.
